Are you new to campus? Are you fresh out of high school, ready to tackle your first
year of university? Maybe you鈥檙e a transfer student who鈥檚 just arrived here from a
community college? Or perhaps you鈥檝e been on this campus for a couple of years, but
since you鈥檙e a commuter, it鈥檚 harder to find out about the near-secret aspects of
campus. Well, don鈥檛 worry. If you continue reading, you鈥檒l find out about five of
Bellarmine鈥檚 student resources that not everyone knows about.

Knight鈥檚 Pantry & Closet
The Dean of Students鈥� Office: This office, hidden away on the third floor of Centro, has resources designed to
make your time at Bellarmine easier. With the ability to pinpoint and lead you towards
what you need, this office is like 鈥渁ir-traffic control鈥� according to student care
director, Lindsey Ruth. They help you identify the problem that you have, and then
they point you towards solutions, whether that is on Bellarmine鈥檚 campus or outside
of it. If you work away from campus, but you don鈥檛 have access to transportation,
this office can provide you with a TARC bus pass completely free. If you are having
problems with your roommate and don鈥檛 know what to do, they can talk to you about
your next steps. Any problem that you have, this office will work with you to solve
it.
With an open-door policy, you can stop by this office in Centro 鈥� our main building
鈥� on the top floor to the left of the elevator in room CNMH 280.
The Math Center: Unbeknownst to most, the math center offers every math-related resource that you
could think of for no extra fee, for it all comes included in your tuition cost. A
quiet space with a multitude of tables, chairs, and whiteboards, this center is perfect
for studying. You can do this alone or during the free drop-in tutoring sessions with
student tutors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While you study, you can take advantage of the
various math books that the center provides. If you have a math exam coming up, you
can borrow the TI-84 calculators overnight. All that you need to do is check them
out with the math center staff who are available on that day.
For all your math troubles, you鈥檒l find this center in Pasteur Hall (the building
with the cross on it) on the bottom floor in room P004.
TRIO Student Support Services: A resource new to campus starting in Spring 2026, TRIO is here to support all students
who demonstrate financial need, are Pell-eligible, and/or are first-generation college
students. With this program, you can network with Bellarmine鈥檚 staff at events and
meetings to form connections for your future. You can take part in the variety of
workshops that they offer, including financial literacy, grad school prep, and more.
The TRIO staff also offers academic and personal mentoring to ensure that all your
goals can and will be met. This creates a supportive environment where you can count
on encouragement throughout your time at Bellarmine.
鈥淚f a student needs extra support, they can depend on us to be there for them,鈥� said
TRIO academic success coach Sophia Vargas. For all the help you need, visit room 209
on the 2nd floor of the library.
A.R.C. (Accessibility Resource Center): Designed to ensure the campus remains an accessible and supportive environment for
all students with disabilities, this center is an inclusive, open space where everyone
can feel safe and heard. With student groups, such as Access BU, students with disabilities
and allies alike can come together to form a community where they can advocate and
encourage one another. Learning to advocate for yourself and what you may need is
an important tool you will need in the future.
For any accessibility questions you may have, or a listening ear, you can set up an
online appointment or visit the ground floor of Centro and walk through the Career
Development Center to get to room CNMH 072.
Knight鈥檚 Pantry & Closet: Free and open to all students. Upon entering, all you need to do is fill out a slip
of paper with your student ID #, and then you are free to grab a grocery bag and shop!
Restocked every week with new items, the pantry features canned goods, toiletries,
breads, cereals, meats, and more. You are free to fill up your grocery bag with items
per visit, but be mindful of how much of an item you grab. We need to ensure that
every student is taken into account. Knight鈥檚 Closet offers clothing and shoes in
men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 sizes, from coats to jeans to high heels. Feel free to grab a bag
for these as well.
To get to this free resource, head to the top floor of Centro and then turn right
from the stairs. Across from the Counseling Center, you鈥檒l find Knight鈥檚 Pantry and
Closet in Treece Hall in room 225.
So, as you head into your time at Bellarmine, hopefully, you feel a little more prepared
knowing that there are a variety of resources to aid you and support you whenever
you find yourself in need.
Most of the resources listed here, as well as other campus workspaces, are open until
4 p.m. on weekdays. However, you may be allowed into Knight鈥檚 pantry and closet after
working hours, provided you contact Public Safety at 502.272.7777.
